Thanks Chad, An addition of event based/callback listener would be awesome. I think you could come up with a pretty simple work around where you poped all the messages off the queue and then went to sleep for a bit. For applications that weren't latency sensitive that would be sufficient I think.

Rich, Not M$FT so far as I know. It's pretty much platform independent.

Very interesting. I don't know much about IronMQ; is that a Micro$oft product? Or some cool open-source thing?

Lisa,
Thanks for sharing with me. Hearing the perils and acheivements of your family reminds me of how we have evolved but also makes me sad that we are now OLD. Please keep in touch and I am sure our paths will cross again.

Thank you so much for your annual update! It was so much reading about your families past year!

I know that this upcoming year will only be better! Always keep us (your worshippers!) informed, it's fun to read about my friend's lives.

Be happy and thank you for sharing, that was really cool!

Love, La Donna

So which distro do you prefer? I've tried Fedora and found the GUI a little inconvenient. I ended up using the command line most of the time but that was for development.

Sorry it took so long to post this Tim. Your comment ended up in my span queue. One thing you said I agree with is that Windows makes a bigger target and is targeted by more virus writers because if it. I really don't know if one is intrinsically more secure than the other. I disagree in part with the higher learning curve bit. I think for developers that is true because MSFT makes it extremely easy to write code with Visual Studio however for end users I don't think there is much difference. It's all what you're used to and Linux is free which gives it an automatic advantage over things that aren't. Yeah, you get it pre installed on a lot of systems but you are still paying for it.
